NEW YORK — Virginia couple Will and Lizzie Gannon are preparing for their first day of marriage when they receive a marriage certificate from a judge.
The couple, who were originally from Washington state, were married at a courthouse in Virginia.
Will and Lizzy Gannon have been together for five years.
They say they’ve been together since the age of 13, and they had to have a marriage license for their wedding to be valid.
They say their marriage was the first in the country to be legally recognized.
They said the couple was not married for more than 30 years, but they didn’t want to have their names mentioned.
They have a 1 1/2 year-old daughter.
Will and his wife have been living together since February.
They met when they were 15 and have been married for two years.
Will Gannon said he was looking forward to getting married.
He said he and his fiancee Lizzee had planned to go to Hawaii on a cruise with their family, but that they ended up staying in Virginia because they wanted to celebrate their anniversary with their daughter.
Will said their wedding will be a celebration of a long relationship, but also a celebration for love.
They plan to have the marriage ceremony in a public place and have a reception afterward.
“It’s been a long journey for both of us,” Will said.
“I’ve had a lot of support from all the people that have known us.
I’m really grateful for that.”
We have been looking forward for this and we have been able to live it, Will said, adding that he is looking forward both to having the ceremony and having a happy and healthy relationship.
